Back in 2021, when I first started practicing photography, I couldn’t understand the appeal of black and white images. Why would anyone choose to strip away the vibrant colors from a scene? And who would buy a monochrome camera when they could have the full spectrum of colors instead?

Curious, I rented a monochrome camera for a weekend—and I was hooked. There’s an indescribable joy in shooting black and white, a sense of timelessness that feels like stepping into a time machine while still being rooted in the present.
